Penny Lane

no, we're not talking about the Beatles song Penny Lane. today I'm talking about my pup.

everyone and their moms in the blog world post pictures of their furry friends. I don't have a doggy anymore but I did.

my Penny Lane was a yellow lab, we got her before I was in 3rd grade and she lived to be 10 years old. she was fantastic. super mellow, never bit anyone nor thought of doing it, never barked unless told to, never even licked us unless we asked for kisses. we could leave food out on our coffee table in the living room and it'd still be there untouched if we left her alone with it. she was the most well behaved dog in the history of dogs. hell, she never left our yard even if we called her over to the neighbors. she'd sit down and stare at us like "I'm not supposed to go over there" we'd have to get her all excited then finally she'd come over. best. dog. ever.

she often crossed her legs like the lady she was.

loved getting her belly rubbed.

and she never was on our furniture until her last few years, my parents finally allowed it. but she'd still sit and stare at us until we said it was okay for her to come up on the couch.

best damn dog. we called her so many names other than Penny. poo-poo and fatty were the most common, she loved it. oh, and she absolutely loved the song Hey Ya by OutKast, she'd start dancing to the song with us. I loved her, and miss her so much.

I really want another pup. eventually I'll get another one, but I'm not sure if I could ever own a dog that wasn't a lab. they're my favorite.

sorry not sorry for the crappy photo quality, these pictures were taken with the flip phone.

  2. Awww she was beautiful, how adorable are these photos?! Dogs are the best :) Hawkeye is not even close to that well behaved. She owns the house and all the furniture, and if she wants to lick you, you might as well just let it happen.
