4.

because I have nothing better to post about, here's a list of facts in fours.

four nicknames:
Cass - I don't know if this actually counts, but considering the fact that my name is Cassandra, I'm counting it. A lot of my close family/friends call me Cass.
Cassaroo//Cassaroll - this was popular while growing up, it has faded since.
Half Pint - my dad will refer to me as this occasionally because I'm so short. thanks dad.
Short Stop, Shorty, Forearms - all random names given to me by my managers and coworkers.

four things in my bag:
gum.
chapstick. Burt's Bees specifically.
pocket knife.
creditcards, check book, etc. the basics.

four movies I've watched more than once:
there's so many I could name here (hello, I'm a sucker for movies on tv) so I'll go with my favorites.
The Sandlot.
The Proposal.
Christmas Vacation, Elf, Home Alone.
anything Disney/Pixar.

four favorite drinks:
chocolate milk. (yum!)
water. (boring, but I try to stay away from pop.)
vodka and a mixer. (can literally be anything.)
SangriaRitas. (specifically from Zocalo.)

four random things I'm thinking about:
going shopping.
Chicago.
Cinco de Drinko Mayo.
work.

four top places I've traveled:
Niagara Falls.
Hilton Head.
Buffalo. (the overall adventure gives it a spot on my list.)
Mexico, Jamaica, Caymen Islands, Bahamas.

four places I've lived:
Wickliffe.
Concord.
Painesville.
Chardon.
(all north east Ohio places, all within 10-30min of eachother.)

four tv shows I'm currently watching:
New Girl.
The Goldbergs.
Modern Family.
and It's Always Sunny//The League when they're airing.

four things I'm excited for this year:
Chicago.
country concerts.
planning another Cleveland Browns takeover.
catching up with my blog friends.

well, that's a wrap. I'm about to head out and do some shopping.

have a great day!

December 22, 2014

hi.

it's been a while since I've shared my life story on here.

so long, in fact, that I don't even know where to begin right now.

I guess I'll start with... I turned 25. what?! my birthday was the day after Thanksgiving. to celebrate a few friends and I went to a local Irish sports bar for dinner and some drinks. after that, "e-baby" and I went over my uncles house for a small party.

1. with Carrie and Olivia ;; 2. with Randy and Carrie

and now I'll recap one of my favorite weekends of the year. the time I went to Buffalo, NY. I trekked out to Buffalo with my friend Carrie, my cousin Curtis, his girlfriend, and two of his buddies. Carrie and I jammed out to some country music, and 90s throwbacks, with a few new hits thrown in (like TSwift's Shake It Off). once we finally made it to our hotel, we all pre-gammed while watching Ohio State beat Michigan! then we decided to go burn the town down. we started off at Duff's Sports Bar. we heard they are famous for their wings, which we all ordered, and were delicious. after a few beers and a couple games of air hockey, we trekked over to another bar/bowling alley. we drank more and played some pool. before making our way to a small dive bar and then heading to the last bar of the night, where we played some kinda disc bowling game and listened to some good tunes.
the next day we got rowdy at Ralph Wilson Stadium. my Brownies lost, but other than that, it was a fantastic time. the Bills fans were nice, overall. we got some boo's but I wouldn't expect anything less. we just barked back at em. and we got along well with the Bills fans that sat by us. we chatted and talked smack. it was awesome. we already decided that we're going back to Buffalo.

let's see, what else is there...

Halloween. the annual Lane Halloween party was awesome, as always. this year I went as Katniss Everdeen. "I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!"

E-baby. I mentioned him above. but I met this guy. he's pretty cool I guess. so we'll let him stick around for now.

movies. I've watched many, many movies. but I'll only list a few here...

Lets Be Cops: hilarious. seriously, hilarious. watch it.
22 Jump Street: not as funny as I thought it'd be, but still pretty good.
The Purge Anarchy: I liked it a lot more than the first Purge movie. if you watched the first, watch this one too.
I'll Be Home For Christmas: I don't know why I've never seen this movie, but I'm glad I changed that. even after all these years have passed I still thought it was a good movie, it kept me laughing.
Now You See Me: I actually liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would. I'd recommend it.
Blended: sorry, Adam Sandler, but this wasn't very good.
Oculus: I liked this horror movie. I would have thought it was amazing if the ending was slightly different. I understand why they ended it the way they did, but I also would've liked to see it end differently.

fantasy football. I was in a league with my two cousins, aunt, uncle, and some friends. it was a great league. I came in 4th place, out of 8 (being one of two girls, I'd say that's pretty good). we talked smack, had some hard losses, and some fantastic under-dog wins. I can't wait til next year!

healthy lifestyle. I've stayed with it for the most part. my workouts were slim between summer and now, just because of my ankle, which still isn't 100%. I finally was able to run a little bit last week, but it's still a slow process. eating wise, I've been doing alright. it was difficult with all that Halloween candy floating about.

I think that's all I have for now. I'll try to get another post up after Christmas.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

July 25, 2014

here are a few of my favorite things

yes, this is a delayed post based off of Sarah's post.

let's just get right to it, shall we?

favorite pet I ever had. my pup, Penny Lane. honorable mention, my kitty cat, Boots.

favorite car I've owned. the car I currently have, 2004 Honda Accord.

favorite meal out ever. I think I'd have to go with both meals from Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill. delicious.

favorite food I've cooked. I don't really cook.

favorite food from childhood. I've always been about those chicken nuggets.

favorite movie of all time. The Sandlot and Remember the Titans. go ahead, judge me, I don't care.

favorite book of all time. PS, I Love You or Lone Survivor.

favorite item category to shop for with a girlfriend. I don't shop with my gal pals. I'm a very quick shopper, whereas all other girls take forever. I get bored and moody when I have to shop with others.

favorite day out - what, where, with whom. country concert and tailgate, Blossom Music Center, with all my friends.
or, Cleveland Indians game and tailgate, Jacob's Field, with all my friends.

favorite color. red.

favorite artist. Lukey. (Luke Bryan).

favorite song. there's so many. too many.

favorite paid entertainment ever seen. this is tough. I'd have to go with one of the country concerts. possibly Lukey's concert summer of 2013.

favorite flower. I don't know, whatever looks nice. it's a flower.

favorite gift I've ever gotten. I've received a lot of great gifts, but I think I'd have to go with my Omar Vizquel autographed baseballs (yes, that's plural, I have two.)

favorite tv rerun. Boy Meets World.

favorite food item I can't run out of. hot sauce and cayenne pepper.

well, there ya have it.
happy Friday!

July 15, 2014

hey heyy!

it's been a while. coming up on two months without a single post, nor have I been reading posts.

I'm going to work on fixing that.

anyways, here's what I've been up to...

Las Vegas. it was a blast! I'll eventually type up a whole post about Vegas, pictures and all.

weddings. I've gone to two weddings so far this summer, and have another one in September. one was for my friend Allison, I learned how to swing dance- it was a great time. the other was for a family friend- Melissa and I basically tore up that dance floor.

country concerts. so far I've been to: Tim McGraw//Kip Moore, Toby Keith, and Jimmy Buffett. this Friday is Jason Aldean//Miranda Lambert//Florida Georgia Line//Tyler Farr- which I'm super excited for.

sprained ankle. unfortunately, at the Toby Keith concert I sprained my right ankle for the 9th time. this one was by far the worst though. I had to take off work for two weeks because I couldn't walk. you'd think during the time I was stuck at home I'd type up a post, but my ankle was so bad I didn't bother hobbling/crawling/crutching over to my laptop. I stayed as close as I could to the kitchen/bathroom. basically for two weeks I watched random tv shows, a few movies, and had my ankle submerged in a bucket of ice water.

4th of July. I'll do a whole post for this as well, since I actually have pictures from that night.

Indians games. one of my favorite things to do during the summer is watch my Tribe boys play some ball. I've been to 9 games so far this season. I figure I at least have to make it an even 10, if not more than that. majority have been with Mac.

Lane Family Golf Outing. I could do a post dedicated to this event as well. we'll see. it was a good time, as always.

movies.
Major League- let me just say, I'm a huge Cleveland sports fan (we all know that) but I had never seen Major League, which is about my Cleveland Indians. Mac made me watch it, and it was good. I'm glad I finally saw it.
Lone Survivor- finally watched Lone Survivor. I've been wanting to watch it since I first saw the previews. I absolutely loved the book, the movie was great as well. but like usual, the book was better.
The Family- I quite enjoyed this movie. it's about a mob family who has to be in witness protection because other mobbers are trying to kill them.
World War Z- didn't care for this. it's about a disease that's spreading over the world turning everyone into zombies and then a long-haired Brad Pitt has to save the day. (long hair and Brad Pitt don't go well together).
Pain & Gain- this was alright. I didn't think I'd be a huge fan of it in the first place but still wanted to watch it. some parts were funny.
Italian Job- decent movie. pretty much exactly what I thought it'd be like, kinda predictable.
Good Will Hunting- loved it. I don't know what took me so long to finally watch this movie but I'm glad I finally did.

I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but that's all I can think of right now.

I'm still alive

I've been extremely busy lately. that's why I haven't been around much.

before I list out how my life has been lately, I want to ask a question.

how many letters are in the alphabet? I know the answer, and I thought it was common knowledge, but every time I ask someone most of them don't know.

anyways...

I leave for VEGAS in 12 days!

working. working a lot.

Memorial Day was jam packed. I helped plant 240 pepper plants, and about 50 other vegetable plants. and then went to a pool party all afternoon/evening.

and I've been hanging out with a new fella lately. we'll call him Mac.. since that's what I refer to him as. but no, that's not his name. anyways, went to an Indians game with him- which was ridiculously fun. then spent the evening at a campground with him and some of his buddies- that was also ridiculously fun. and we have two Indians games planned for this weekend- which I'm super excited for.

like I mentioned above, I've been going to a lot of Indians games.

and really just living life. today I plan on going shopping (trying to get a few more things for Vegas), working out, laundry, and bringing up my suitcase- which means I also have to clean my room up some. busy busy!

life update

I haven't posted here regularly lately...

last week I thought I was going to post more but I ended up throwing my back out twice. that was super fun. my family has a history of bad backs, lucky me. anyways, I was at work about to dump out the mop water when I tweaked it. I couldn't even stand up straight. finally, after a few days it started to feel better when, again at work, I threw it back out. twice within a week, yay.

I couldn't really sit down without it bugging me, so sitting at a computer typing away was the last thing I wanted to do.

but, I'm good now. back feels great, and I'm good to go.

other cool things:

I get to watch Lois again this weekend! I love watching her. she's so funny and I get to have movie marathons. perfection.

I'm going to the Indians game next Tuesday, and I'm really excited.

the weather has been awesome the last few days, with the exception of this rain we're currently getting.

Vegas is only 27 days away!

I got my friends wedding invitation. I'm so happy for her, she's such a great person, and she's marrying a great guy.

technically I attended a bachelor party for about 2 hours or so, even if it was only at a local bar. I can cross that off my bucket list. the things I get myself into.

I need to get back on a regular workout routine again, I've been slacking lately. tomorrow I plan on getting in a solid workout.

have a great week!

living the dream

I haven't been posting much lately. I've just been busy. I've even had dreams, that according to my dream app, mean I'm emotionally and mentally strained.. can't disagree with that one.

dad. dad is doing better. (he has 3rd degree burns on his hand and leg.) his leg is doing much better, and should be healed by the end of the week. his hand is taking a bit longer because it was burned worse. although thats also looking way better. it's remarkable how much both have healed in the matter of 5 days. it's still really painful, mainly when he has to clean it, but he's hanging in there.

mom. my mom got a hysterectomy last week. she's doing great recovery wise. it took a few days, as expected, but she's up and feeling good now. both my parents have just been lounging around every day taking it easy. living the good life.

Josh. if you didn't see my post from Monday, my army friend came home for the weekend. I was able to see him Friday night which I was super happy about. I haven't seen him since October so it was great to get one of his famous hugs again. he's gonna try to come home again in June or July.. I hope he can, I already can't wait.

Easter. we spend Easter at Grams. after we search for our basket and egg. (yes, I'm 24 and still look for a basket and an egg.) my egg was hard, it took me forever to find it. my basket wasn't too hard though. then we monge on food at Grams. ham, potatoes, baked beans, green beans, apple sauce, corn, etc. and, of course, drink a few strawberitas. after dinner we do our Easter egg hunt. my dad and uncle hide all the eggs, and then my siblings, myself, and my cousins all search. things get intense. this year I literally dove for an egg against my 14 year old cousin.. drink in hand.. I beat him to it.

Flyers and Indians. my Philly Flyers made the playoffs so I've been watching their first series. as I'm writing this they're tied 1-1 and played again last night. hopefully they go to 2-1 in the series. as for my Tribe, they're doing okay. I don't think they've found their groove just yet, but it'll come around.

healthy lifestyle. with being in and out of the hospital for mom and dad, I haven't been able to work out in about a week. and so many amazing people keep bringing us delicious food for dinner. I'm trying to be healthy but the last few weeks have almost been impossible. I plan on getting in a good workout today.

that's my life.. how's yours going?

I wanna talk about me, wanna talk about I

I hope everyone had a good St. Patrick's Day. I love St. Paddy's, it's the Irish in me. nothing beats corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes. delish.

today, because I'm most likely hungover and dreading the fact that I have to work, I give you some more interesting facts about me.

I blame other people. I don't even mean to or realize I'm doing it. once I blamed something on Melissa when she wasn't even in the same room as me. I spilled something and told her "well, if you were here then I wouldn't have tried to go faster and wouldn't have spilled it." sorry Melis. (my whole family does this too, my dad is the master of it.)

I love when celebrities are friends. it makes me happy. I love when a celebrity goes on their friends talk show and they just ramble about life making jokes with each other.

I love when celebrities dance while being introduced on the Ellen Degeneres show. life's short, dance on Ellen.

I love how Zac Efron salutes. he always gives a little salute instead of waving. I think it's amazing, and I think he's amazing.

I never cook for the full microwave time. I like to instantly consume my food. I can't wait for it to cool down, therefore, if it states to cook for 5min I cook it for around 4min and 30sec or less.

expiration dates don't bother me. I only care about milk, or other things that can actually go bad. I eat stale cereal, chips, pop, etc no problem. I even once ate soup that was about a year after the date. is that gross? it tasted fine, I'm still alive, and I didn't waste it. I call it a win.

I love frozen reese's. I can eat a peanut butter cup, but I'd much rather it sit in the freezer for a while before hand. they're just better that way.

well, that's all I have for you today. have a good one.

March 12, 2014

life is good

I'm a happy gal, and here's why...

this necklace. it's actually silver, my flash or something made it look gold in the picture.

country megaticket. I got my megaticket in the mail. I cannot wait for this summer, the country concerts, and the new memories I'm going to make. plus, Josh said he's going to try and make it home for one! which would be super amazingly awesome.

march madness. I love filling out my bracket and watching the games. it's possibly my favorite time of the year, sports wise. (fair warning: I will talk about this a lot in the next few weeks.)

St. Patrick's Day. it's just around the corner. corned beef and potatoes, yum. Irish Breakfast Shots, even yummier. I just love St. Patty's, it's the Irish in me. slainte! (it means cheers.)

Jim Gaffigan. my family is going to see his stand-up show at the end of the month. I cannot wait. I love Jim, I think he's hilarious. I even have his book, Dad is Fat.

Vegas. I'm just super pumped to go back to Vegas this summer. my family is starting to talk about all the things that are new this year, what we're going to do, etc. it's getting me really excited.

my friends. I have the best friends. all of them are so great, and none of them ever care if I drunk call/text them. usually the morning after I feel like I have to do recon on who I annoyed, but everyone seems to welcome my drunken shenanigans with open arms.

lifestyle change. I'm still going strong with the workouts and eating healthy. which is remarkable, usually I'm over it by now. it feels great, and I'm down about 12 pounds! holla.

life is good, folks, life is damn good.

Lent

every year I participate in Lent and give something up. even though being a methodist we technically don't have to do so. I like the challenge, and I think it kind of shows God that I got his back.

typically I give up pop, chips, and ice cream. yes, all three. but this year since I've done a whole lifestyle change and haven't ate a chip or ice cream in a while I thought why even bother?

this year for Lent I'm still going to give up pop, and with that I'm also going to keep my room clean//do an intense cleaning of it. so basically, since my room is a disaster right now, for the beginning of Lent it'll be spent cleaning it. vacuuming, dusting, laundry, etc. and then for the rest of Lent I'm going to keep it clean. no clothes on the floor, no random things in random places. everything must be put away.

and I think I'm going to pray every day. not for myself, but for other people. a different person every day. that sounds like a good plan. hopefully I'll remember to do it. maybe I'll keep something by my bed that I have to check off every night. yea, that sounds good.

I'll update y'all occasionally on how it's going.

do you participate in Lent?

random questions

I'm still recovering from the weekend. I went out for a few dranks with Randy, Melissa, and friends. it was a good time, but like usual I drank too much. and upon leaving the bar I sprinted to the cab and completely ate shit. my butt and my hand hurt, my hand is even a little swollen.

so today I'm answering more questions from the random question list.

here we go...

if you could have a super power, what would it be?
maybe the ability to go invisible. or being able to read minds.

do you like guacamole?
no.

have you ever taken a picture in one of those booths?
yes. Randy and Melissa had a photo booth at their wedding.

what's your favorite school supply?
pens, I suppose. I like writing with pens.

what's your favorite tree?
Christmas, does that count?

what did you have for lunch yesterday?
chicken sandwich.

where do you go for advice?
my closest friends or my family. depends what it is.

have you ever taken dance lessons?
I was in ballet for like a week before I hated it and quit.

do you prefer baths or showers?
shower. not that there's anything wrong with a bath, I just don't have the time.

who's your favorite game show host?
Pat Sajak. my family refers to every host as "Pat" even if it's not him.

have a good Monday!

to infinity and beyond

I had seen this post waayy back on Stephanie's blog. and forgot about it, no shocker there. anyways, so I was looking through posts I've 'liked' on bloglovin and there was this gem.

so without further ado, I give you...

things that make me feel infinite::

breathing fresh spring air.

watching the rain fall.

listening to a good country song.

a few strong drinks. (am I right?)

hearty, deep down, I can't breathe, laughter.

when someone knows something about you, just a little, random, meaningless fact, that you didn't know they knew/remembered.

finding good deals on things you want/need.

scratching off a winning lottery ticket.

hitting all the green lights.

cruising around with friends jamming out to music.

finishing tasks before the microwave hits zero.

when my Brownies/Indians/Flyers/Buckeyes win.

when you've worked hard and it pays off on the scale.

what makes you feel infinite?

random questions

I found this from Kristin's blog and figured I'd answer a few of them.

so here we go...

whats your favorite Dr. Seuss book?
I think I'd have to go with One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. just cause it's like the only one I know. that or Green Eggs and Ham.

if you could live in any home on a tv series, what would it be?
Modern Family would be entertaining, or The Goldbergs. wait, no, I pick New Girl. definitely New Girl.

whats the longest you've gone without sleep?
41 hours. true story. I've also gone 40 hours.

what was your most recent trip of more than 50 miles?
I think going to Columbus for the Jackets vs Flyers hockey game.

what do you order when you eat chinese food?
always fried rice. love that shit. along with that, it depends, sometimes general tso chicken, sometimes kung pao chicken. occasionally wonton soup, or some crab rangoons. it all depends on how hungry I am and what I'm in the mood for.

which do you use more the dictionary or thesaurus?
google.

have you ever been stung by a bee?
once, and it hurt like a bitch.

are you afraid of heights?
yes. not deathly or anything, I can handle rollercoasters, I just can't look down.

whats your favorite commercial?
I'm a big fan of the "it's only weird if it doesn't work" commercials.

if you could go to Disney World with any celebrity alive today, who would it be?
Zac Efron or Luke Bryan. both I think would be fun.

whats your favorite breakfast food?
eggs. for sure. I love eggs.

if you want to answer any of these yourself, you can go here. there's 50 random questions.

weekend update

I have been very productive lately, I like it.

this past weekend I...

saw Anchorman 2 and Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. both were good. I thought the first Anchorman was better than the second, but isn't how it always is? the second one wasn't as funny, didn't have as many quotable moments, and was too long. as for Paranormal, it wasn't scary but the ending was great, I loved how they tied it all together, and I can't wait for Paranormal Activity 5 (comes out in October!)

ate at Sushi Rock for the first time. it was so damn good. I tried two different kinds of sushi rolls, and mom tried three, one of them being the filet/lobster roll which came with a magical dipping sauce. it was phenom.

went to my little cousin's championship soccer game (he's six, playing on a nine and under team.) and I witnessed him score a goal to tie it up 2-2. it was awesome. Mo (his mom, my cousin by marriage) and I were going crazy. both of us had sore hands and throats afterwards because we were yelling and clapping so much. my cousin's team ended up losing the game in overtime though, unfortunately.

went grocery shopping with mom and bought a bunch of healthy items. then I made these healthy dessert bar things, if they're good I'll share the recipe. I haven't eaten one yet though.

did more decluttering. I had about half of a garbage bag full already and was hoping to finish it off, which is exactly what I did. I had already decluttered my desk area, this time I moved to my cd rack area (who still has a cd holder? not me anymore), the shelf in my closet, makeup basket, and my big tv dresser. I even dusted a little, big progress, folks, big progress. every time I clean an area it looks ridiculously better. still have a ways to go, but so far so good.

watched and predicted the 49ers win. go Phil Dawson!

I miss him wearing that Brown and Orange
exchanged my winning lottery tickets for $6. yes, I'm that person that wins six dollars and takes the money instead of new lottery tickets.

wrote/scheduled almost all of my posts for this week.

how was your weekend?

or is it just me?

I just really don't understand...

radishes. does anyone actually eat them? like, why do they exist. does anyone else think they're weird or is it just me?

running out of gas. seriously, how do you run out of gas? look at your gauge, and when the lever starts to get low just go fill up. doesn't seem like a hard issue to solve. or is it just me?

not claiming your food. while at a restaurant, when they bring your food over listen for when they call out your dish and then make some acknowledgement of it being yours. don't just sit there.. it's annoying. or is it just me?

leaving carts. return your damn cart to the cart returns, or to the store, or give it to a fellow customer that is seeking a cart. don't just leave it in the parking lot. it looks messy. and it could hit a car or take up a parking space, plus it just makes more work for the people that have to collect them. walk your ass over to the cart return, dammit. or is it just me?

'might as well' instead of 'mine as well'. I don't know why I say it weird.. it just happens. I also pronounce pillow as 'pellow', that I get from my papa and mom. and I say "ruff" instead of "roof". anyone else pronounce things weird, or is it just me?

peeling bananas from the other end. ya know, not the end with the stem. the other end, that's how I peel my bananas. I heard monkeys do it that way cause it's easier so I tried it and it really is easier. or is it just me (and monkeys)?

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. not the one from back in the day, although that ones creepy too. I'm talking the Johnny Depp version. fucking creepy as shit. or is it just me?

being offended easily. when I say "merry Christmas" no one should be offended. I don't think people celebrating other holidays are offending to me, why do you take offense? and if Phil Robertson wants to express his opinions about homosexuals then he has the God damn right to do so. it's called freedom of speech. just like you can express that you think it's wrong he said those things, he has the right to voice his opinion. or is it just me?

I hope everyone stays warm this week. here in Ohio we're getting pounded with snow with ridic cold temps.
