friday never feels like friday

I always have to work on Saturday, so my Friday never feels like an actual Friday. especially this week, my town's annual Maple Festival is here for a few days, which means work tomorrow won't be easy by any means (nor will today be easy, for that matter). fun stuff.

anyways, on to my Friday favorites...

Maple Fest. I just mentioned this above. it's my towns annual festival. we have awesome maple syrup so every year on the town square we have the Maple Fest. just a bunch of fatty food stands, rickety carnival rides, dirty carny workers, no parking, and people everywhere. I love the fatty foods, already consumed fried veggies, yum. and a gyro, yummier.  

Army friend. let's see how many times I can mention him on my blog. hah, sorry not sorry. I got to see him for the first time since October and it was awesome.

workout. I was finally able to get in a good workout. and damn was it a good one, I kicked my butt. I need to get more workouts in, especially with all that fair food I've been consuming.

NFL schedule. the NFL schedule was released for the 2014 season. I'm already making plans to see my Brownies take on the Steelers, I can't wait. here we go Brownies, here we go! woof woof!!

ya know what's not so awesome though? my damn kindle app on my phone wont work. I have an actual kindle so I can still read books, but it's so much more convenient having it available on my phone since I always have it with me. somehow I gotta figure out what the hell is wrong with it.

I've been a bad blogger lately.

don't get me wrong I like blogging, but when it comes down to writing up a post or living my life I'll choose living every single time. lately, I've been busy. and by busy I mean heavily drinking, attending Indians games, and being hungover.

anyways, the weekend is here!

I was going to do my favorites of the week, but really the only thing worth mentioning was the Indians game on Tuesday. I had such a good time. the weather wasn't too cold (for most the game at least), we pregammed at my fav pregamming spot, we took way too many pictures, and I was with some really great people.

this weekend I'm just working, and attending the Monsters hockey game on Sunday.

hockey and country. the other day my favorite hockey player tweeted this:

April Fools day. I personally love the day. I'm a jokster anyways so when I have full permission to play jokes it's even better.

I told Josh that I had won 2 meet and greets for Luke Bryan in his home state, Georgia, over 4th of July weekend. and since J's in Georgia anyways he could be my guest. I really didn't think he was going to believe me but he responded with "yea I could do that. holy fucking fuck. that is insane." which made me feel a teeny-tiny bit bad, but I was also cracking up. after I told him it was april fools he said "I had my doubts. I was like yea, this is too good to be true but I'm down for the cause" he cracks me up.

I also tried the same prank on my friend, Erin. it didn't work. she replied "I've been waiting all day for your april fools joke." she knows me too well.

CLE Indians. baseball is back! I couldn't be more excited. I love baseball and I love my boys. I'm going to the game tomorrow, and then again on Tuesday, first two of many for the year. plus tomorrows game is free for me, and Tuesday's game means taco tuesday at my fav pregaming place. tacos and margs are super cheap. win-win!

this week seems like it went by so slow. I couldn't be happier that it's the weekend.

my favorites:

hockey and margs. went to another Monsters hockey game on Wednesday, which they won in a shootout and I got on the jumbotron twice- it was awesome! and accompanied by the pre-game Zocalo margaritas.. usually I drink three, this time I went for four. not a good idea.

Grams birthday. it was her birthday yesterday, we're going out to dinner tonight to celebrate. she's doing so much better after that nasty fall. I love her so much, she's one of the best people I know.

dranks on dranks. tomorrow night I'm going out with friends for some drinks. should be a good time, I'm excited.

Bates Motel. I've been watching season one on Netflix, I'm hooked. it's so good.

my favorites of the week::

West Side Market. I went to the WSM with Randy, my dad, and my grandma. it was a fun time. I had my first crepe filled with peanut butter, chocolate, and bananas, it was delish. and I tried a pear too, which wasn't half bad. after walking around the market emptying our wallets we had lunch at Great Lakes Brewing Co. that was also delish. it was my first time eating there (this adventure was filled with a lot of firsts) I tried the salmon burger, so damn good, and I subbed the fries for green beans to be healthier. overall it was a fun day!

cousins night. tomorrow night. basically, it's just a planned night to hangout at Randy/Melissa's with my younger cousins Ben and Hayley, and Melis' sister. we play the kinect/wii, play board games, watch movies, etc. we did it last year and it was a good time, I'm excited!

liquor reps. also tomorrow (I think at least) after work but before cousins night, my boss and I are going to talk to a liquor rep. everything dealing with the new bar is exciting to me, so I'm excited for this too.

Josh. it's been just over a week now that he's been able to have his phone. I love being able to text him whenever again. and he cracks me up without even trying to.. I sent him this joke:
"you're a smart guy, are there 21 letters in the alphabet?" to which he's supposed to say 'no, there's 26' so I can say "oh, I must have missed u r a q t" but instead his reply was "23 I think" which made me laugh more than the actual joke. it still is cracking me up.

another week come and gone.

here's whats good in my life,

weight loss. at a superbowl party three people told me I look like I've lost weight. it feels so great to hear those words after I've worked so hard.

CLE bowling. tonight I'm going to downtown Cleveland for my friends work party. we're going to a bar/bowling alley and then to another bar after that. it should be a fun time, I'm excited.

Hawthorne hangouts. my old neighborhood was called Hawthorne Woods, we refer to ourselves as the Hawthorne gang. and I love seeing them. last Saturday after a longass day of work I was ready to sit on the couch the rest of the night, but ended up hanging out with Carrie and Olivia. and then we met Scott for dranks. it was a fun/chill night.

movies. I watched a few more movies, still trying to get caught up. I finally watched The Goonies, along with 42, The A-Team, and Rumor Has It.

promotion. I'll talk about it more on Thursday, but basically, I was just informed of a promotion at work which I'm super excited about.

I have today off, biatches! but I do have to work tomorrow. anyways, today I plan on doing a bunch of cleaning/decluttering and getting in a solid workout.

Malone's 21st. one of my best friends that I've known forever, finally turned 21 yesterday. about damn time. Happy Birthday Erin!

cleaning. one of my goals for 2014 is to declutter. I started off great, already down three garbage bags. I decided to take a little break and not worry so much about it, so this week I went back at it. a little more decluttering, a little more cleaning, a little more making my life easier.

not a favorite, this weather. we had upwards of a foot of snow within four days, and a high of 0 on Tuesday. zero. on Wednesday we finally got out of the negatives all the way to double digits.

f is for friday

another typical Friday for me, work yesterday, work today and I have to work tomorrow.


1:: Lo-baby. I got to watch my dog-niece. she's the greatest. I mean, she'll gently paw at your leg until you lift up the blanket and let her underneath it, is that not the cutest thing ever?

2:: MLK. I was able to pick up a few extra hours at work thanks to Martin Luther King Jr. basically I got an additional 3 hours of pay to brew a few coffees, take a few orders, and wash a few dishes, since we weren't very busy while I was there. easy peasy.

3:: Monsters. went to the first Monsters game of the year. (yes, I realize I'm like three months late on that one.) oh, and I had free tickets. oh, and we pre-gamed at one of my fav pre-game locations, Zocalo. they have amazing margs.

4:: Melt. the delicious-ness that is Melt Bar & Grilled. basically they make extravagant/gourmet grilled cheese. it's ridiculously good, definitely not good for my diet though, but everyone needs a cheat day here and there. am I right?

5:: movies. with watching little Lo, came some major movie watching. one of my goals for 2014 is to catch up on movies, and that weekend definitely gave me a solid start. 5 movies down, plenty more to go.

another week gone, another weekend has arrived. except I have to work tomorrow, so it doesn't actually feel like Friday. but I do get to watch my dog-niece, Lois, tomorrow night! I love that little nugget.

anyways, on to my Friday favorites...

1:: decluttering. I've talked about this a lot lately, but I'm so happy I decided to declutter. normally me cleaning my room consists of taking the clothes off the floor. so to do a whole process of cleaning is a big deal for me. and something I've rocked out so far. I've filled two garbage bags of junk and one filled with donations. I even dusted. (thanks to Steph and Stephanie for the support and motivation!)

2:: work it out. I've stuck with my workout goals for the week thus far, and I feel great. I always feel awesome, tired too, after a good workout, but mostly awesome.

3:: healthy. I've stuck with my healthier eating, currently I'm down 6 pounds from the time I started round one about a month ago in December.

4:: Big&Little. I decided to join the Big&Little Blogger match-up this time around. my big is Mandy, and I'm super pumped to see what this match-up brings.

5:: planning ahead. I have been good about pre-writing my posts lately and having them scheduled days in advance. I used to type posts up the night before, or some even the day of. I'm loving this get ahead feeling.

welcome back, Friday.

I actually don't have to work tomorrow. usually I work on Saturdays, but tomorrow I'm off. (sorry Rand, no Beans on Saturday this week.)

and because I'm so excited to have Friday feel like an actual Friday, I give you my favorite moments from this past week.

1:: snow day. or I should say cold day, since I got Tuesday off because the water pipes froze at the coffee shop where I work. I guess a wind chill of -46 will do that.

2:: television. some of my favorite shows are back. New Girl, Brooklyn NineNine, Cougar Town, Community, The Goldbergs, etc.

3:: J. I got to talk to Josh a lot the two days before he left. and we had some good convos. I'm sending a letter today, and he'll be home in February again. pretty pumped about that.

4:: national champs. FSU beat Auburn. hell yes. I don't even care about Florida State or what they do I'm just happy that an SEC team lost. I'm tired of them thinking they're so great.

5:: chores. I started the decluttering process of my room. my desk, the stand next to my desk, and the shelves by my desk are done. it looks way better. I still have a long way to go, but at least I got a good chunk done. I also returned jeans to Kohls and mailed the Netflix, just a stop at the bank and to exchange my winning lottery tickets (six dolla holla) and I'll be caught up on errands.
