back in my day

back in my day, which was only 10 years ago in the 90s. and yes, the 90s will always be about 10 years ago to me. there's nothing anyone can say to change that.

back in my day...

we played outside. making up games, running around, being active, not sitting inside playing video games. (that only happened if it was raining. hello super smash bros.)

there was landline phones and you couldn't use the computer when someone called.

kids didn't have cell phones, or iPods, or laptops. I had a portable cd player and the Nsync cd. hell, I didn't get a cell phone until I was 16, and it was a flip phone and I didn't have unlimited texts or minutes. (at least we had cd players and cell phones though.)

I spent Saturday mornings watching cartoons and Saturday nights watching SNICK.

the cost of living was cheaper.

when you missed school because you were sick you watched The Price is Right.

kids wore their pants around their waist, not sagging below the butt. and we respected our elders.

schools were safe. no one even thought about bringing a gun to school.

we made up games to keep us entertained on those long rides in the car. we didn't have tvs/dvds/etc to keep us entertained in the car.

no one had blogs.

pictures had to be developed.

the Indians were good. nah, great. the Indians were great.

couples stayed married (more) and guys respected girls (more).

  4. The Price is Right every day in the summer, then outside to play. Or every day when sick.

    Love it!

  5. Oh the photos. I have so many overexposed photos and terrible photos because you didn't really know how they would turn out til they were developed. God bless those disposable cameras.

    Thanks for linking up!
